and far away...
the return of sky blue

(A Mixed-Up Fairytale II)

A wolf once stood
in a wild, darkened wood
and thought to himself: Gosh I'm hungry!
I don't want to eat mice
it'll be gone in a trice
and I'll be damned if I eat one more bunny!

And that's when he heard
the sweet chirp of a bird
that said "Oh golly! A girl comes a-trotting!"
The wolf hid a grin --
no, it won't be a sin!
(It would just be a bit of fine dining.)

He jumped onto the track
thinking of ribs -- a whole rack --
and gave the girl his best, loudest roar.
But the girl was Sky Blue
and she made the wolf rue
and she beat him until he was sore.

The wolf realised then
that Sky Blue lived again
and thought "Woe for us villains -- we must flee!"
Sky Blue bent her head
and then left him for dead
And she walked away whistling, carefree.
